It's official: Jonas was named Outstanding Graduating Senior for the Spring 2003 Graduating Class of the W.P. Carey School of Business. In the words of Mr. Andrew Blount, "Jonas Zygas... the man!"
Jonas told me that he's gonna need some help with his speech. Dive in, leave a comment, and make that silly Lithuanian your puppet.

Since the beginning of this war I have been looking for insight, analysis and critical review to help build upon the information streaming from CNN, Al Jazeera, and others. Like all of you, I do some of this work myself, but I enjoy jumpstarts and counter-arguments from others reviewing the data. George linked to some timely, smart pieces that are worth wrapping your brain around.
Here we go again, flushing out all the news that's fit to link:
- Poll, poll, and poll some more: the latest polls regarding the war in Iraq.
- Doonesbury: "I've had Al-Qaeda-type girlfriends."
- At the Onion, Point-Counterpoint: The War On Iraq, US Forms Own UN, and Dead Iraqi Would Have Loved Democracy. It's all part of the Onion's shock and awe campaign.
- Scientists and Cake
- Media Consumption: Could this be the first internet war?
- "The Philosopher's Song", by Monty Python and a blogging song called "Ben & Mena" by Steven Frank
- Not only do major media players lie, they're protected in their right to lie.
Top Ten Digital Photography Tips: Ten little hints aren't gonna turn your kid brother into Ansel Adams, but they might help you grab some good shots. No advice for nude portraiture. Sorry.
Women's Fasion: Part V, Releasing Your Inner Slut
Margaret Berry uses the web to pull thousands of women aside, all at once, and urges them to get their slut gear on. In her words, "Congratulations, sexy thing."
I was reading an article in the NY Times about the progress of Operation Iraqi Freedom and I ran across a mention of US efforts to destroy Iraqi equipment used to jam GPS systems. A few minutes earlier I was reading Ben Hammersley, who presented a link from a Navy website that explains how to build the jammer (the ciruit diagrams are available elsewhere). Not so hot, boys. The web is not the best place to store everything. I'd stop short of letting the Russians off the hook for their alleged sales, however.
I have read through all my usual sources looking for insights and information about the war with Iraq, and I found very little. What are you reading-watching-hearing? What do you think about U.S. involvement now that war is unfolding?
