Flash Mobsters Confused for Dumbasses

Ah, finally, some good hometown news to report. It seems some Boulder misfits thought it would be fun to plan a flash mob like those popping up in New York. In a beautiful, ironic twist, their secret plan to spontaneously gather and point to an empty sky was foiled because the secret was leaked and the empty sky had a local news helicopter in it.

Update: The Denver nuts did it too. All these links are coming from pimp-cash-money (Jorge). Thanks, dude.

Democracy at its Finest

There are 135 people on the ballot for the recall election for California governor. As has been well publicized, the list includes "entertainers" from Ah-nold to Gallagher to Gary Coleman to Larry Flynt. But when I looked over the list (I am once again a California constituent and felt the need to educate myself) I was intrigued by the various occupations of the other candidates. Bruce Margolin - Marijuana Legalization Attorney. I didn't even know that was a specialty. Ivan A. Hall - Custom Denture Manufacturer. Paul Nave - Businessman/Prizefighter/Father. This is the Baskin-Robbins of elections, but with 135 flavors instead of 31. I really hope that the outcome of this election turns out to be positive and proves that democracy works. If it proves that democracy is a failure, I'll see you all back in Phoenix, real soon.

Touchdown at TypePad

TypePad has launched. It's exciting, really. No longer is the choice between a simple but featureless service and a robust and intricate personal solution. TypePad happily fills a middle ground for the users who want access to feature rich weblogging but don't really care too much about how it all works behind the scenes. For less than the cost of your own hosting, you can get access to a well designed and easy to use tool that will let you write, publish photos, keep archives, maintain an about page, syndicate your site, and even post via cell phone, amongst other things.

If you play around and put up a site, share it with us.

Elsewhere: TypePad in the Detroit Free Press, TypePad reviewed online. Update: Another glowing review.
