I have had a great weekend. Tonight will mark the third night in a row where drunken carousing will ensue. It’s gonna be huge.
Before I had a job, I never really appreciated all of the “other” reasons why Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor day… were celebrated – I always thought it was because of the people for whom the day honored.
Now I understand that it’s so that people who work a real job can get reacquainted with what it was like before rush hour, alarm clocks, and eating your second meal of the day at noon. Not to discount the original meaning of these holidays, but damn, I am having a blast with this three days off stuff.
What a great guise we have put over these mini-vacations. Now that I have a job, I can finally understand what additional meaning these national holidays have for the world of corporate America, let freedom ring.
