Voters Information Guide

Jason Kottke has created a Voters Information Guide for the 2004 US Election with the help of others on the 'net. Go check it out for details on the important voting particulars (registration, absentee ballots, where, when, etc.).

Note also that the site is deliberately and carefully free of opinion, propaganda or slant. The aim is to help democracy function, not drive a particular candidate to or from office.

Holy Smokes, Batman!

Terrifica, the red-clad crusader is on a mission to stop drunken hookups in NYC. Complete with mask and cape, she surveys over the New York party scene, protecting intoxicated women from the men who would take advantage of them. "I do this because women are weak. They are easily manipulated, and they need to be protected from themselves and most certainly from men and their ill intentions toward them." Hey, I didn't say it. She even has an arch-enemy, a velvet-wearing nighthawk who goes by the name Fantastico. I was going to give her the benefit of the doubt, right up until she said "...don't get drunk in bars." Just for Kicks

Time-lapse film of a coast to coast drive. It has been set to music and placed on the web for you in a tidy, downloadable package. Makes me want to buy a convertible and hit the road... but I think I'll just go to work tomorrow instead. Neat.

Gmail Tips, Tricks

I found a few Gmail tips on the web (I'd love to credit my source, but the birds ate all my breadcrumbs).

Two good ones: a.b@gmail.com is the same as ab@gmail.com. That rocks. Also, ab+extra@gmail.com gets delivered to ab@gmail.com. That could be useful for filtering spammers or setting up good filters (i.e. +asu for all school mail). Always thinking, those Google engineers!

More geekery: New mail notification for FireFox users via the status bar. Kickass.
