Send Off for The Purple Shirt

Today, I'm giving away The Purple Shirt, and saying goodbye to my years (mostly Thursday nights at the Buzz) wearing iridescent, rubberized clothing. It is a unique item and historians will likely puzzle over it, hundreds of years from now, when it is found wholly preserved and wearable. And, if movies about the future are to be believed, those will be some lucky ass archaeologists, because it is a stylin' shirt that would fit in well in any number of colorful future scenarios (Back to the Future II, Judge Dredd, The Fifth Element, etc., etc...). It is my hope that between now and the time at which it is added to the Smithsonian Museum of American History (alongside Mates' yellow pants, Cuoco's leprechaun shoes, and any number of Alex's metrosexual personal effects), it will be enjoyed by some Salvation Army shopper needing a healthy dose of majestic, sparkling purple in a garment that rarely requires washing.

Rest in Peace

Who else wants to spill? I know you guys must have some similarly spectacular items lingering in your closets.

The Times They Are A-Changin

In Boulder, the Secret Service investigated a possible threat to the President. A high school band, Coalition of the Willing (but orginally named Taliband), is being investigated because they ***planned*** to play a cover of Bob Dylan's "Masters of War" at a high school talent show. Some students and parents alleged that the band changed the lyrics during rehearsals, inserting President Bush's name. However, Principal Ron Cabrera assured reporters that no lyrics were changed.

Brilliant!

Don Knotts as George W. Bush. Man, oh man. That is some sweet stuff.

Also brilliant, Firefox, the best browser you never tried, was just released officially at 1.0 status. That means it's safe for download boys and girls. And it's free. And it's awesome. IE sucks! Long live the fox!

The companion e-mail program, Thunderbird, is also excellent and has also been updated. Download recklessly, e-mail generously.
