The Wrath of Corporate America

My desk is beige. My 2 phones are black. My cube walls are covered with reports and spreadsheets. I do the exact same thing as 6 others. They have beige desks, 2 black phones, and cube walls that have similar looking reports and spreadsheets covering them. There are over a hundred offices like mine in the country that do the same thing for the same company. If it weren't for the funny smell, I'm sure you'd never be able to distinguish my spot from any other one.

There was one shred of creativeness that snuck into my job. On the program that I use (again, the same one that everyone else uses on a computer that looks just like mine) a picture of the person whom you are contacting shows up when you IM them. Some people here had gotten creative and put fun pics up. I thought my "rock on" hand signal was pretty good. It lasted 8 months.

I got an email last week telling me that my picture had been taken down due to it's "incompliance." A picture of me from the shoulders up with a white background replaces it - just like everyone elses.

On the positive side

The Phoenix Suns are back to their winning ways and Steve Nash is undoubtedly the key ingredient to their success, but it recently came to my intention that there is at least one good thing to come out of his injury. The boy has proved that Canadians actually can have good style, eh. A friend of mine actually saw the game and told me that commentators were talking about his SLeisure wear for 10 minutes or so, saying that it must have cost him over $100. Andy, you got a special pricing system worked out for our friends in the NBA?
