Okay, so last Saturday, I was mixing at Axis when I ROYALY screwed up. I won't go into the details, but 30 seconds of dead air was the result. I did the math on it, and that's 30 seconds longer than I have ever experienced in my past 5 years of DJ'ing. Anyway, after it was all said and done, my usually calm demeanor turned to rage and I threw my headphones (which I love and care for far more than most of my family members) to the ground with fantastic force. Well, I got to spend the rest of the night with my ears connected to a mangled mess of wires and plastic - I looked like the bad guy from some sort of Star Trek episode. Well, today I bought some new ones - plopped down a $100 bill and still had to go fishing in my pockets for more. They’re much nicer than my old ones: All the leather and plastic is new, the coily-cord-thingy still slinks up when you un-stretch it… BOTH EARPEICES ARE STILL ATTACHED.
I told you that story so that I could tell you this one: Everything is great on my new headphones except for one thing. The old ones had a sticker on them that I stole fair-and-square from a computer at one of the clubs that I worked at. It was a tiny Intel Inside sticker, and it belonged on the headphones as much as Natalie Portman belongs in my bedroom on a nightly basis. As the headphones go, so go its stickers, I always say. I tried to fit my last ukazu sticker on the new ones, but it was just too big. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know. I need some personalization on my new cans. Who better to make them say “I’m DJ Swerv’s” than someone besides DJ Swerv?
:::important announcement:::
If you do one thing this Memorial Day, make sure to go out to the lake to party with guys you don't know that well... use their boats, and their girlfriends, to their fullest potential. But if you can't do that, do this:
I'm having another 3-day weekend party at Axis this Sunday night. Per usual, we're going all casual, and per usual, we're doing $5 cover for everyone after 10PM. If you wanna come before that, let me know, I'll make sure that you get in for free. I'll be mixing up some summertime videos like the shiz was in a blender, so if you want to come out and show some ukazu support, you are all invited.
