Many thanks to Ryan Hyland.

Many thanks to Ryan Hyland. Though self-nominated, self-elected, and self-inducted as VP of Entertainment, he's doing a fine job. I think the people will definitely rally to support your vote of confidence on November 6th. The party rocked; you da man.

Orbit. Orbit is a jazz

Orbit. Orbit is a jazz club in uptown Phoenix that plays smooth music and serves up some luscious eats. Orbit is at the northeast corner of Central and Camelback. Orbit is a fabulously chill joint.

Our reservation will be for Friday at 7:30pm under the name Alfonso. RSVP by Thursday at 5:00pm if you want in. No last minute crybabying on Friday; Pony up now or forever shut the hell up.

It's on. In the

It's on. In the words of some wise Swingers, "Vegas baby, Vegas." We are heading to Las Vegas, Nevada for two roaring nights on October 26th and 27th. We will be celebrating my 21st birthday and the end of one more arbitrary restriction in my life. Without further ado, in form true to all ukazu happenings, here are the five w's and the h:

Who: EVERYONE. I mean it. I know the ukazu clan isn't big enough to roll in and put a crunch on the supply of hotel rooms, but I want everybody there. I suggest you start gathering in groups of four and booking hotel rooms. If you need me to play match maker, just holler.
What: A road trip. Shows. Hotel parties. Clubbing. Buffet grubbing. We're gonna roll out on the highway like some sort of Mad Max sequel, descend on Vegas in a cloud of flashy clothes and highball glasses, and come home with several credit hours worth of field studies in hedonism. Sign up right away.
Where: Vegas? Oh, more specifically. We're staying in the Luxor. Assuming four people per room, the total room cost for the weekend is pennies over $100 per person. Book online at orbitz.com.
When: The 26th, 27th, and 28th of October. We're leaving Phoenix sometime near lunch on Friday the 26th, staying Friday and Saturday nights, and driving home on Sunday. (My birthday is officially on the 24th for those of you interested.)
Why: (Questions like this make me reconsider this template format for event planning.) Because it's mid-semester and you want to go nuts. You need to drink, dance, and forget about exams. And if that doesn't do it, listen to JRod: "You'll be sorry if you don't."
How: There are a million ways to do this. As long as you end up with us in Vegas, you've done it right. I have suggested that people collect in small groups to book hotel rooms and work out driving arrangements, but anyone that needs some help coordinating their voyage, call papa ukazu, he'll hook you up. ;)

For inspiration rent Very Bad Things, Swingers, National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation, or Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Also, see Paul and JRod's Sober Vegas Hijinx 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Okay we're back on for

Okay we're back on for dancing the night away, freaking like dogs in heat, and drinking booze like it's life giving nectar. TONIGHT.

The ukazu crew and then some will be at Sanctuary on Shoeman Lane in Scottsdale, Arizona. We'll be meeting up first at Kona Grill at Fashion Square at 9:00pm to get started where the food and drinks are cheap and then we'll move off to get it on.

No RSVP necessary, but if you don't bring your dancing shoes, you're instantly persona non grata. Consider yourself warned. 602.312.7519 for details, translation, fashion tips.
