Los Olivos, Amigos
Los Olivos is Scottsdale's oldest Mexican food restaurant and it remains one of the best. Over the years the building built by Tomas Corral has been used as a bakery, a pool hall, and a chapel (not all at the same time I hope, or you'd have one fat, distracted congregation). Currently the Corral family is in the business of serving Sonoran Mexican food and mixing margaritas out of their hideaway on 2nd Street in Oldtown Scottsdale (map).
I like Los Olivos in its current configuration, so I'm inviting you out to share lunch with me this Saturday at 1pm. This will not be a complicated affair, but our lunch will afford you either a reprieve from your intense studying or an afternoon engagement to break your boredom.
If you would like to attend, please respond in the comments to indicate your interest (it will help me estimate the size of our group).

I'm interested, but is the average meal price really $21-30? One of the links said that the price was for a three-course meal. So does that mean if I don't get salad and dessert, the meal itself is actually closer to a normal restaurant price?

Yeah, it's not expensive bro. It's not fancy either. It's your typical Mexican joint, but better. $21-$30 is pretty normal for three courses ($12 dinner, $6 salad, $6 dessert). If you just eat the dinner, you'll be a-ok. It's good food and it'll be a nice alternative to our routine of nuevo mexican, ala chipotle and z'tejas. Questions?

Paul...
Is the day for Los Olivos Saturday or Sunday? On your five question survey, you said lunch on Sunday, but in your email you said it was Saturday. Just wondering...

My fault, must have daydreamed. It's Saturday. Why didn't you list your Friday Five, btw? CHICKEN.

At Lunch: Jonas, Alex, Cristy, Shewmake, Beth, Brian, and Me. We were later joined by our good friends Tamale, Enchilada, Taco, and Chimichanga. Good times and grease were had by all.
