^^ Four Peaks ^^

Simplicity:

* Four Peaks Brewery and Restaurant (Yahoo! Map)
* 1:00pm, Sunday, March 3rd, 2002
* It's time for a weekend break at a fabulous local brewery. The food and beer are wonderfully satisfying and the atmosphere is casual. Bonus: Jonas will be leading the ASU Brewers and Vintners club on a tour of the brewery at 1pm, so if you'd like to see how the place works, you'll have the opportunity. Those who aren't interested in the mechanics and prefer to sample the products can relax on the patio with a cold beer and a fresh, hot mushroom swiss burger.

Blinkin' Green Jimmy

We've never done a concert with the ukazu crew, and I think it's about time. We're signed on for some Dave Matthew's Band action in May, but before that happens, we need to go to the Green Day/Blink 182/Jimmy Eat World concert that's coming April 19 to America West Arena. I can't give these guys high enough billing. In one night three micro-generations of truly energizing musicians are going to share one venue. That's good news; I love one stop shopping and three for one deals.

It does get a little tricky though; unlike the DMB concert, we don't have the advantage of just pulling up some lawn. We've gotta coordinate and buy ourselves some tickets for America West Arena. The tickets go on sale Saturday March 2nd so I'll need word from you by then. The details are summarized below for those of you who haven't been chewing your information carefully. Once you've pushed aside the chaff (no, it's not all chaff) then post your name in the comments and I'll contact you when it's time to buy tickets.

Gotta love the crowd: Just some of the gang. You know, Mark, Travis, Tom, Billie Joe. I think it'll probably just be the 19,023 of us.
What'll go down: Crazyscreamingjumpingdancinglaughingpunkfest. And then we're gonna go to the concert.
Where, exactly: America West Arena. Nothing funny about that.
What time, Sandy?: The concert is Friday, April 19, 2002 at 7:30pm. Tickets go on sale March 2nd.

Executive Forum

Straight out of the e-mail:

Hey ukazu locos,

I'm the crazy website guy that you know and love, but I'm also President of the Business College Council this semester. The job has a couple of perks, but it also has its responsibilities. At the top of my list right now is Executive Forum. The Executive Forum is a wonderful and engaging event. I have included the details below and I hope you will take a few hours off from studying, playing video games, or drinking beer to spend some time relaxing with fellow students at the University Club. Best news yet, the entire experience is free. Read up for details and then grab a friend, get to BA 119B, and sign up.

Who: All undergraduate college of business students are invited to attend. The guest executives are Jon Mudder, Tracy Mock, and Sherman Chu. Stop me if you've heard this one: "An Investment Banker, a Venture Capitalist, and a Semiconductor Executive walk into a bar..."

What: Dinner, conversation, and presentations with three very successful business people. Each executive will discuss some of the things they have learned, what has made them successful, and how they have managed some of the more difficult situations they have encountered. You won't walk out a CEO, but if you pay attention you might be closer to management material than when you walked in.

Where: The University Club at the north end of campus. The U Club is where all the ASU bigwigs meet up for fancy dinners, and it's always a good time when we can get undergraduates into professional dress and march 'em in.

When: This Wednesday, February 13th, 2002 at 6:00pm. The evening should wrap up just before 9:00pm.

Why: Events like the Executive Forum bring to mind words like understanding, wisdom, perspective, enrichment, and depth of character. Again, you can't learn it all in one night, but there is a lot to be learned by listening to the experiences of others.

How: Visit Helen Rubio in the new Undergraduate Center, room 119B, befor Wednesday evening. There are only 40 spots available for dinner, so get there fast, get your name on the list, and be proud of your accomplishment.

See you Wednesday night.

Dave is Coming!

Dave Matthews Band, that is, for those of you who can't get into acting like you are a personal friend of the singer! Whatever you like to call him, the group is coming to Phoenix on May 12th, and I think we all should go! I figure we'll definitely need a night out by this point in the year. Finals will be over and summer session will not have started yet, so I don't want any excuses for not being able to come! I have personally never been able to catch the concert in Phoenix, so I've decided to head up the process of getting a group together to go see the show this time around! So make me proud and come with us, because you know I rarely plan events, and I'm going out on a limb for this one! Ok...here's the nitty gritty:

Who: You.

What: The Dave Matthews Band Concert

When: Sunday, May 12th, 7:00PM
We are going to meet at TGI Friday's out in Litchfield at 4:30PM for some pre-concert snacks and drinks. From there we'll caravan out to the concert and try to be at Cricket Pavillion by 6:00PM to get a close spot on the lawn where we can all be together. The gates open at 5:30PM.

Where: TGI Friday's
1559 N. Litchfield Rd.
Goodyear, AZ 85338

Cricket Pavillion
2121 N. 83rd Ave
Phoenix, AZ 85035

Why: Fun?

Tickets go on sale on February 16th at 10AM. I will be buying tickets at this time. If you want a ticket, I will need a check from you before this time. You can give the check to me, or most of you see Paul more often so that might be easier, and I'll have him pass them on to me. The price for lawn seats is $31.50 plus tax and other venue fees. I would expect this to total around $40. If you would feel comfortable giving a blank check, I will let you know the exact amount it will be written for on February 16th!

So...come one, come all! Bring your friends! Let's party Dave Matthews style, however that is!

Kelly "It took me writing this invite twice to get it up here because I somehow managed to delete it in the process the first time, so now you better come" Daley
