For those of you with

For those of you with sourness in your souls and those without time for farcical, wandering entertainment, go speedily to the end of this post where the condensed and deliberate instructions have settled. For those who enjoy trivial pleasures and the absurdity of grinning in front of a computer, read on lazily and enjoy.

Hanukkah, Christmas, Festivus, Kwanzaa, and New Year's Eve have all passed. Rather than sit back and reflect on the good times we've had, I have resolved to march on and celebrate further. This Saturday night at 9pm we're going to Bar Louie on Mill Avenue. Bar Louie is the latest addition to the fine selection of bars and restaurants in downtown Tempe and I think it rocks. We'll meet up at the bar around 9pm for a late dinner and some drinks. The food is great and they have a good selection of beer and wine in addition to the requisite bar staples.

I don't think you should need a reason to come out and relax over some hot food and cold beer, but I have provided several reasons below for those of you who need a stronger sense of purpose.

(1) This will be the first major gathering after the departure of Paul Bell, Ryan Hyland, Cameron Donnell, and Geremy Fenton. We will mourn the loss of our comrades and pour one for the homies.

(2) This will be the first major gathering after the departure of Paul Bell, Ryan Hyland, Cameron Donnell, and Geremy Fenton. We will throw our hands up and rejoice at first taste of our new freedom from their oppressive and dominating personalities.

(3) Web site say eat, drink, bar. Must obey web site. Eat. Drink. Bar. Web site. Web site is master.

(4) It's not Z'Tejas. It's not Z'Tejas. It's not Z'Tejas.

(5) I hate to be sensible, but it's January and school will be starting soon. People will cram their heads into their books (or up their asses, perhaps) and burrow underground for weeks. If you want to see a few friends, eat some good grub, and drink a few beers without having the whole experience laying heavy on your conscience, come out this Saturday. See ya, Louie.

Hark, all ye hooligans: I

Hark, all ye hooligans:

I think it's been too long since we all got together to drink some beer. I also think that if I had a dog that ugly, I'd shave his ass and teach him to walk backwards.

Now that it's been established what you get when you get me thinking, you'll be relieved to learn that I consulted out on this event. The most honorable Andy Brown and the ever savvy Kelly Daley each offered their advice for where to hold our upcoming, laid-back, beer-swilling night on the town. Can you believe we reached a consensus? Despite the differences between the members of the Good Liquor Ukazu Group, the location of choice was Mickey's Hangover in Scottsdale.

We're going to meet up at 8pm and promptly start drinking. If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, and I mean it: everyone is invited. Don't be bashful, take the night off from misanthropy and myopia and come out to sit on an old couch and drink some beers. I don't know who will be out this Saturday, but I invite you to meet up with us. You're welcome to drag a friend along, but don't feel pressured, because ukazu isn't a pyramid scheme so we won't bust on you if you show up by yourself.

If you don't trust Andy B and Kelly D in their assessment of Mickey's Hangover, be sure to check out the CitySearch review. Also, if you need a map, check out the CitySearch map and keep from getting lost.
