^^ Four Peaks ^^

Simplicity:

* Four Peaks Brewery and Restaurant (Yahoo! Map)
* 1:00pm, Sunday, March 3rd, 2002
* It's time for a weekend break at a fabulous local brewery. The food and beer are wonderfully satisfying and the atmosphere is casual. Bonus: Jonas will be leading the ASU Brewers and Vintners club on a tour of the brewery at 1pm, so if you'd like to see how the place works, you'll have the opportunity. Those who aren't interested in the mechanics and prefer to sample the products can relax on the patio with a cold beer and a fresh, hot mushroom swiss burger.

Duck- Duck- Duck- Decanter

I'm still working my way through the most glorious meal of the day at Z'Tejas each night, so we're left with lunch. The attentive reader may have noticed that I didn't mention breakfast, but the truly sharp reader understands that breakfast is all but forgotten during the college years. And I have nothing to say to those of you who would make a case for brunch. Absurd, really.

This Saturday we'll be collecting at Duck and Decanter in Central Phoenix. Duck and Decanter is a cozy and unique sandwich shop just west of the Squaw Peak Freeway (SR 51) and north of Highland Avenue (map). The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is relaxed, and everything is ordered a la carte so you get exactly what you want every step of the way. We'll meet at 1pm again, to give you breakfast eaters a chance to burn off your bagels.

See you Saturday.

Los Olivos, Amigos

Los Olivos is Scottsdale's oldest Mexican food restaurant and it remains one of the best. Over the years the building built by Tomas Corral has been used as a bakery, a pool hall, and a chapel (not all at the same time I hope, or you'd have one fat, distracted congregation). Currently the Corral family is in the business of serving Sonoran Mexican food and mixing margaritas out of their hideaway on 2nd Street in Oldtown Scottsdale (map).

I like Los Olivos in its current configuration, so I'm inviting you out to share lunch with me this Saturday at 1pm. This will not be a complicated affair, but our lunch will afford you either a reprieve from your intense studying or an afternoon engagement to break your boredom.

If you would like to attend, please respond in the comments to indicate your interest (it will help me estimate the size of our group).
