Your Whole Damned Weekend

It's so tricky trying to fit everything in each week. Between bowling on Mondays, cribbage on Tuesdays, the chiropractor on Wednesdays, and bingo on Sundays, I hardly have time to mummify the deer mice that keeping drowning in my koi pond. And this weekend I've got company, and will probably have to cancel my strip aerobics class as a result. Poor mice.

I will be following two delightful young ladies (Cory and Kiley) from North Carolina around this weekend. Apparently they are going to show me some cool things to do in Phoenix. Might I suggest that you scrap all your weekend plans and join us?

Thursday Night
==============
ACME, Tempe
10:30 PM
Act like the college student you are/once were/hope to be. Drink upside down, say rude things to pretty girls, and puke in the parking lot, if you please. Remember my 21st birthday party at ACME? How everybody had fun? With the talking, laughing, and dancing? I don't. Come remind me, because it sure sounded like a good time. Wish I had been there (conscious).

Friday Night
============
Mickey's Hangover
10:30 PM
We're going to Mickey's Hangover to drink beer. After we drink beer, we'll smile in a satisfied kind of way, and order another, thankyouverymuch.

Saturday Night
==============
Opium Lounge (early)
Axis-Freakin'-Radius, Baby (later)
Opium is running good drink specials early (thanks to the HBSA), so we're gonna start out lounging and once we're good and fired up, we're gonna hit Axis-nt-nt-nt-nt-nt-Radius for some nt-nt-nt-nt-nt-dance-dance-dancing.

--------------
If you can't shirk responsibility all weekend like me, pick one night and do it right. I promise you a good time or your money back. And I don't take such matters lightly -- I only say it because participation is totally free.

little, and chop it up with the Ukazu crew. I can't

Booze Cruise #1

Do you ever get the urge to go drinking? Good - I can help you.

I've hijacked a pontoon boat. We're going drinking on it. You, me, and the first 11 Ukazu freebooters that RSVP. We're going Boozin' and Cruzin' on Saturday evening. Then, we'll eat and listen to live music at the Coffee Grounds. We'll just float our way over to the little restaurant - it's on the lake. Coffee Grounds recently re-opened for business, so I recommend bringing cash to pay for your meal (the CC machine might not be operational). After dinner, more boating and drinking. That's the plan.

The party boat will be anchored at a dock in neighborhood of "The Lakes," at a small park on the NE corner of Driftwood Drive & Compass Road (the major streets are Rural & Baseline in Tempe). If you need more help finding the place, call me.

Who: The first 11 people that RSVP by email or call me at 480-703-7475
What: Booze and Cruz, Dine, Booze and Cruz
When: Saturday, January 18th. Boat leaves dock just after 7:00PM
Where: The dock at the intersection of East Driftwood Drive & South Compass Road, Tempe 85283. See maps attached.
How: RSVP & BYOB

Jonas

P.S. We're in public - put a brown bag on it. And don't forget that it's
cold outside at night.

Vanishing Act

My apologies if this is your kid. I stole his pirate photo from google images in egregious disobedience of copyright law. The pirate connection makes it truly ironic.I'm getting sick and tired of everyone I bump into asking, "Hey Paul, when are you going to leave town already."

I can tell when I'm not wanted. So I'm leaving. Next Wednesday morning, the 29th begins your reprieve from Paul Parent, social marauder. Before I drive east into the morning sun, however, we will party like, like --- I don't know, like a bunch of people who are ready to party and send a bombastic lunatic off to certain torture in North Carolina.

We're sticking to the tried and true formula that has brought the ukazu crew success:
dinner + drinking = cuoco making farting noises
dinner + drinking = jrod crying into a pair of borrowed panties
dinner + drinking = alex complaining about dinner and drinking
dinner + drinking = paul sitting around fat and satisfied.

So, on with the nonsense:

Dinner
Tequila Grill [MAP]
7:00 pm
RSVP, one way or another.

Drinking
Mickey's Hangover [MAP]
9:00 pm

It all happens Tuesday.
Simple.

Lauren Time

We're having a happy-happy-birthday-party for Lauren this Friday, May 3rd.

I know it's a busy week, but by Friday you'll need a little break to relax and soak up something besides the inside of another book. So come out Friday to party and congratulate Lauren on her 22 years of girly-girl-ness.

We're meeting at Martini Ranch at 10pm to fill our eyes and ears with something new. You might want to move your feet a bit. You might want to drink a little. You might just want to sit and grin for a while. All these things have been known to do a body good.

I'll see you out.

Switcheroo

Hey, the party moved.

Good News: You don't have to worry that Sapporo will make you So-poor-oh because we're going to Garduno's (map).
Bad News: There's no bad news dude, we've still got the same game plan, we just took our game on the road.

Who: I've got 29 people hootin' and hollerin' for Mexican and margaritas. You want in? You better let me know, supafast. Also, if you're one of the 29 and you've changed your mind about this Friday's adventure, let me know that too, supafast of course.

What: It's a birthday party for Kelly and Jonas. We haven't rented clowns (other than Brian, JRod, and Jonas) or purchased party favors (unless you count the snack size bags of pork rinds), so we'll just have to entertain ourselves. I know that's hard for some of you, but you will be able to drink. There, there.

Where: GAR-DUN-O'S (map). It's a hot little spot in North Scottsdale with good Mexican food and great margaritas. After we eat, we party. Ohhhh yeah.

When: Friday, March 29th, 6:00pm. The restaurant will want the whole group together before they seat us, so please be on time.

A Birthday Built for Two

Update: The time and location have been changed due to difficulties scheduling such a large group at Sapporo. Check out the revised event details.

Before you get enthralled, disillusioned, or otherwise distracted, know this: it is important that you RSVP by Friday March 22nd at 5:00pm if you would like to attend. Use the comments for this post to accept our invitation or send me an e-mail. Thank you.

"Kelly and Jonas turn 22; UKAZU Crew Gathers in Wild Celebration."

That's what the newspapers will run on Saturday morning after we've finished our party on Friday night. It's been a while since we hit the town like gangbusters and I think it's time we flex our skills again. I've talked to Kelly and Jonas and they're ready. We've made plans. Get your shirt pressed, your shoes shined, and stack some paper -- we're out to prove that 22 isn't the beginning of the end, it's mo betta.

The Game Plan: We are starting the night at 6:30pm at Sapporo. This restaurant is one of the hottest spots in the valley and unlike its North Scottsdale counterpart Barcelona, Sapporo has received rave reviews for its food. Sapporo has three executive chefs and each is responsible for one portion of the three-part menu that contains pacific rim, sushi, and teppanyaki cuisine. Sapporo is also known for having one of the most charming and skilled waiters in the southwest, BJ Ho, in its employ. After dinner we will head into downtown Scottsdale, just in time to get the party started.

I believe in full disclosure: This evening will not be cheap. Dinners at Sapporo generally cost $15-30, and drinks are, of course, extra. Before you lay rubber in search of the comfort offered by a nearby value meal, consider the occasion and loosen the iron-clad grip on your billfold. None of us are rich, but we're gonna part with some hard earned cash in the name of celebration. Personally, I can't think of a better way to spend money. Sapporo is regarded as one of a kind in the valley, and the experience will be fun because it will be unique. Kelly and Jonas will understand if you can't make it to dinner, but they still might hold it against you. Forever.

The details for you kids taking notes:

Who: Everyone and everyone's friends. Really. You're only afraid of going out to dinner with that big ukazu group the first time. After that it's butter on a roll, baby. We're nice to newbies, and even when we're not, we still make them cry. I mean, smile.
What: We'll sit down to a big, flossy dinner and then we'll hit the town.
Where: Sapporo for dinner and then downtown Scottsdale for some partying. [ MAP ]
When: Friday, March 29th at 6:30pm.
Why: Meet me at Sapporo and I'll show you.

"Go Greg, It's Your Birthday, Go Greg..."

Can you see me doin' the cabbage patch? Can you visualize my hips gyrating? Are you mesmerized by the coordinated counter-rotation of my arms?

Before you bust out your best "running man" to show me up, listen to this: Greg Chensky is getting older. I know, it's crazy. He says it happens to everybody, but I think he's just feeling a little self-conscious. We're gonna make him feel better about all that though. Oh yeah, we're gonna drown his worries with alcohol.

This Friday night the whole posse's invited out to show Greg a good time. At his request, we're going first to Gilligan's and then to Martini Ranch. We're assembling at Gilligan's at 9:30; the rest of the night will be slightly less coordinated.

Put on your drinking caps and dancing shoes (yes, they make both!) and meet us out at Gilligan's. It'll be a good time.

"Go Greg, It's Your Birthday, Go Greg..."
